Stainless steel differs from carbon steel by the amount of chromium present. Unprotected carbon steel rusts readily when exposed to air and moisture. We only use #304 stainless steel which is an alloy steel and does not readily corrode and rust. It has at least 11% chromium content. The chromium makes the steel “Stainless” and higher the chromium, the better the corrosion resistance. Customers have a choice of mat or glossy finish.
